I just had to get a few pics up so that everyone can see how precious this new nephew of mine is!
Leah and Grandma getting to know little Lucas.
The beautiful family!
Ready to leave the hospital!
This was an extraordinary week. I was privileged to be sitting with Mitch and Annette when they heard the lullaby the hospital plays when a baby is born. Since Lucas was born by C-Section, we knew without a doubt that this was "his lullaby". I saw their tears when Lucas was walked out, as they met their son five minutes after he was born. I saw the struggle of birth parents who love this baby immensely, so much so that they knew entrusting him to Mitch and Annette was a gift that they needed to give to Lucas. And I saw the bond that has been forever formed between two mothers, as one passed her son to become the other's. It was beautiful and heartbreaking, and was the most marvelous selfless act I have ever witnessed.
Our God is an awesome God. We are blessed.

What a beautiful story! I have been reading your sister's blog for awhile, and I praise God for blessing them with this baby boy! We continue to pray things go well as they adjust to life as parents.
Truly, truly, we are blessed!
*tears*
wow oh wow i can't believe what you witnessed! how incredably sad and happy all at the same time. i can't imagine how hard it must have been for the birth mom to do what was best for Lucas and i can't imagine how happy Annette and Mitch must be after waiting all this time. thanks for posting pictures, he is soooooooooo cute!!! oh and Leah looks like a natural, i bet she's happy to have a little cousin so close by!
What an amazing experience this has been, huh? I am so glad you have been there for them. Give that nephew of ours a kiss from me!
